I do see a benefit to using PVC along a bench where you want to plumb in a bunch of female quick disconnects for quick access to air tools without running lines across the garage etc. I angled the hose from bottom to top so that any condensation that might build up in the hoses would run back down to the drain near the tank outlet (where the dryer/filter/separator is) 50' of 3/8 air hose line is like 20 dollars, which is actually cheaper than PVC and fittings! 3/8 in.

While just about everyone I know uses PVC for air lines and outlets along walls, for the longer runs I actually just ran 3/8 rubber line from harbor freight all the way to the far side of the garage to plumb into an air hose reel. I use a small 3' rubber line (northern tool/harbor freight) to attach the tank to the filter/dryer on the wall.and from there you can run anywhere else in the garage you want. put a ball valve right at the outlet so i can shut off air to everything (i fucking suck at fixing leaks in fittings, so ill just shut off the valve right at the tank outlet whenever i know im not going to be in the garage or use air tools in the near future).
